Our experience includes overseeing temperature-controlled facilities operating across an exceptionally demanding range—from 34°F to –72°F—for major operators and specialized businesses. Achieving reliable temperature integrity requires far more than selecting the appropriate refrigeration equipment; it demands the coordinated design and execution of the refrigeration system, insulated building envelope, vapor barriers, panel joints, penetrations, doors, controls, and adjoining temperature zones.
One of the most critical considerations is controlling the movement of warm, moisture-laden air between spaces—such as from a 36°F refrigerated loading dock into a –10°F freezer. During normal operations, frequent door cycles, product movement, pressure differentials, and discontinuities in the building envelope can allow moisture to enter the freezer, where it condenses and freezes. The resulting ice accumulation can create safety hazards, disrupt operations, damage equipment, increase maintenance requirements, and drive unnecessary energy consumption.
We believe these conditions must be anticipated and engineered out of the facility from the outset—not treated as operational problems after construction is complete. Our oversight addresses pressure relationships, vapor-barrier continuity, insulated-panel installation, thermal bridging, door placement and sequencing, vestibules and airlocks, high-speed doors, perimeter seals, dehumidification, defrost strategies, and refrigeration-system performance under real-world operating conditions.
From initial planning and system design through construction, commissioning, and operational turnover, we provide comprehensive, coordinated oversight to help minimize air infiltration and ice formation while protecting product integrity, employee safety, energy efficiency, operational reliability, and the facility’s long-term performance.
